B-Town's very own desi girl Priyanka Chopra has donned many other hats apart from being an incredible actor. After winning the Miss World crown, Priyanka entered Bollywood and since then, she has never looked back. As of now, the actress has already gone on to make a name for herself in the West with her successful American TV series, Quantico. She even made her debut in Hollywood with BAywatch in 2017 and now has A Kid Like Jake and Isn't It Romantic? in her kitty. Back home, she's signed her next Bollywood project, Bharat, opposite Salman Khan.

Apart from her acting commitments, Priyanka is also actively involved in promoting regional cinema and budding talent through her production house Purple Pebble Pictures. In interview with the Hindustan Times, PC shared that she doesn't look at cinema differently just because she's turned produder. She wants to make such films as a producer which she may not have seen being made. She considers its very important for her to focus on regional cinema and give opportunities to new talent.

Talking about making it in the Hindi film industry, coming from a non filmi background, PC told the daily, "When I entered Bollywood, everyone was somebody’s uncle or somebody’s daughter. It’s very difficult to get inside a production office if you are an actor from no [film] background. I know that it happened to me because I started like that.”

She added,"When I joined films, I was already winner of a beauty pageant and still had it a little easy. I got my first few films but I know that I was thrown out of the films because somebody else was recommended, who was somebody’s daughter. I didn’t know people, ki main dinners pe ja rahi hun and networking kar rahi hun. I know that opportunities came to be because of merit. I know that opportunities were also taken from me because of these reasons. I wanted to have an open house philosophy in my production house."

Speaking about the films she makes as a producer, Priyanka added that she's of the view that their entertainment has commercial value and a story.
