Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet 'Pad Man' Akshay Kumar before the film's release

Akshay Kumar may have pushed the release of Pad Man to make way for Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmaavat but the actor is leaving stone unturned to promote his film.

After going viral with promotional videos to create awareness about menstrual hygiene which forms the premise of his R Balki film, the actor has reached to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to spotboyE, the actor is going to have a 3 hour long meeting with the PM and has even arranged a special screening of Pad Man for Pm Modi. Sources quoted by the entertainment portal said,  "It's an honour for the movie, its makers and the cast that Modi has expressed interest in seeing what the film has all about."

His wife Twinkle Khanna is debuting as a producer with the film which is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham. This man from Coimbatore is credited to have invented low cost sanitary pads for the women of his village is being essayed by Akshay Kumar in the film which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead.

In December, Twinkle Khanna also had a meeting with Information and Broadcasting Minister, Smriti Irani and Women and Child Welfare Minister Maneka Gandhi. She took to Instagram to share details about her meeting and wrote, " Discussing spreading awareness about Menstrual hygiene and after meeting @manekagandhibjp and @smritiiraniofficial -two empathetic,fierce and decisive ministers,I'm convinced that the world would be better if just women were running the show."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also praised the trailer of Akshay Kumar’s 2017 release, 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha'. The National Award-winning actor had a meeting with the PM as well where they discussed the film.
