Power start for Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which deals with the burning issue of electricity thefts across India, received a power boost two days ago with the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat giving the mahurat clap. Later, the Bollywood superstar spent time sharing pleasantries with the CM.

The picturesque Northern state will be the location for this social drama that has some fabulous twists and turns. Incidentally, one hears from close sources that Shahid is the solo hero in the project. An insider says, “There is going to be another actor in the film because it involves a love triangle between him, Shahid and Shraddha Kapoor. But it’s definitely not a parallel lead. The makers are looking to ‘cast an actor and not a star for that role’. Yami Gautam is in a special appearance. She plays a lawyer who helps Shahid on his mission to stop the power-theft and crack down on the defaulters.”
