Pooja Bhatt has never tried hiding her struggle with alcoholism. In fact, she plans to release a book on the same to inspire others. So how can trolls calling her 'known alcoholic' on Twitter bring her down.
It all started when 'Jism' director took to Twitter to slam Amitabh Bachchan's no-comment stand on Kathua and Unnao rape case. At an event in Mumbai, Big B had said, "Even discussing this issue feels disgusting, don't bring up this issue. It is terrible to even talk about it" His diplomatic didn't go down well with many as he he is also the brand ambassador of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao'.
Mahesh Bhatt's daughter without mincing her words reminded Big B of his role in 'Pink' where he was seen fighting for gender equality and importance of female's consent. While majority of Twittarati hailed her, many got personal and started bringing up her struggle with alcoholism. #485daysober now, Pooja handled trolls like a bawse. She wrote back, "A ‘recovering’ alcoholic & proud of it!In a country where people don’t even acknowledge they have a drinking problem, let alone discuss it I am grateful to stand away from the crowd that considers holding your frailties to light shameful."
I can’t help being reminded of a film called #Pink. Can our images on screen please be reflected in reality? https://t.co/JHnc8PLDXY

Only brainless thakelis like @PoojaB1972 would even think of comparing movie roles or fictional stories to real life issues... Obviously... living with too much make up & falsehoods drives her stupidity... https://t.co/A5KHYoSSM7

Pooja had quit drinking 14 months ago and even shared this news on Twitter. She wrote, “Thank you Lord for the courage to say NO and for the capacity to be able to start all over again if necessary. 445 days sober today & counting. Gratitude for the resilience and strength bestowed with every new step I take! #sobriety #recovery #claimyourjourney (sic),” she wrote.
