On Tuesday, a petition was filed in the Uttarakhand High Court against filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor's upcoming directorial Kedarnath.

The petition filed accused the film of hurting sentiments of the Hindus.

The PIL filed by Swami Darshan Bharti alleges that the film is an "ugly taint" on the Hindu shrine.

One of the allegations in the PIL is that Lord Kedarnath has been insulted in the film.

The PIL also claims that the trailer of the films shows that Muslims have been residing in the area for ages while there are no residents from the community in the
area.

Earlier too, Kedarnath, a love story, was stuck due to production issues.

Talking about the same, in an interview, Sara Ali Khan had said that the uncertainty was terrifying.

"The only feeling you have is prayer, which is not a feeling really. There was this constant thought that everything should work out. I will be a huge liar if I say it did not affect me. It was terrifying because we were so attached to the project. I would keep calling Gattu (Kapoor) sir, every day and ask, 'Sir, sab theek hai? Thank God, things worked out in the end," she told PTi in an interview.

Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sara Ali Khan, Kedarnath is scheduled to be released on December 7.

Made against the backdrop of 2013 Kedarnath tragedy, the film is about the love affair between a Muslim porter and a Hindu girl on a pilgrimage to the centuries old shrine.
