Pankaj Tripathi takes cues from Gangs Of Wasseypur character for 'Mirzapur'

Pankaj Tripathi has played several memorable roles in films starting with Gangs Of Wasseypur (GOW), Bareilly Ki Barfi and Newton.

He started out as a villain in GOW but later went on to do positive character roles. Now, for his debut digital series Mirzapur, Pankaj will be reprising his role as an antagonist. Interestingly, there’s a similarity between his character in Mirzapur and GOW.

Both are based in a small town and speak the local language with a typical accent. Not surprisingly, the actor is falling back on his experience of playing the don in Anurag Kashyap’s directorial and taking his cues from there. It remains to be seen if Mirzapur gets him as much success as the gangster film did!
