JP Dutta returns to direction after 12 years with what he is best known for, war films. The trailer of his upcoming film Paltan based on the events that occured after the 1962 Indo-China war has been released and we can't contain our excitement.

The film set in 1967 narrates the story of the Indian armed forces facing off in an intense battle to ward off Chinese infiltration and protect Nathula Pass in Sikkim from the communist country. The makers of the film have teased us enough with the posters from the film a few days back and now the trailer is out to intrigue us further about the film.

The trailer has quite a few action scenes and though we are unaware about the details of the plot, it looks like Paltan will follow the theme that was initially established by the filmmaker in Border.

Even though we see spectacular raw action scenes and connect emotionally since the trailer displays the bravery of our soldiers and the plight they were in while protecting the country, it is quite odd to see some of the actors cast as Chinese soldiers speaking in Mandarin while others speaking fluently in Hindi. Certain phrases like ‘eyeball to eyeball’ that can be heard, too are pretty disconcerting.

The trailer of Paltan tries hard to make an impact and it does to some extent and will probably be a good watch at the cinemas.

Check out the trailer of Paltan here:

Paltan stars Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Kunal Kapoor and Gurmeet Choudhary among others.

Among the actresses, Paltan will feature Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Deepika Kakar, Monica Gill, among others and from the trailer we get the feel that they will only have the stereotypical role of the partner who is left behind praying for her beloved who is at war, though we sincerely hope that we're proven wrong once the film releases.

Paltan is slated to hit the theatres on September 7.
