Late veteran actress Geeta Kapoor's daughter didn't inform anyone before taking her remains for cremation...
Late veterana ctress Geeta Kapoor's daughter Aradhya finally surfaced about 30 hours post her mother's sad demise. While Geeta Kapoor kept waiting to see her son Raja for one last time before breathing her last on Saturday, there's still no sign of him. Raja had abandoned the Pakeezah actress in a hospital last year, post which CBFC member Ashoke Pandit and producer Ramesh Taurani had come forward to help her and put her up at an old age home after settling her hospital bills.
Pandit had shared that the mortal remains of Geeta Kapoor were kept at Vile Parle's Cooper Hospital and that they would wait for two days for her son Raja, to perform her last rites. However, turns out that after more than 30 hours of Geeta Kapoor's death, her daughter Aradhya surfaced and cremated her quietly on Sunday night, without informing Pandit, Taurani or anybody else from the industry.
While speaking to SpotboyE on Monday morning, Ashoke Pandit expessed his shock on not being informed about Geeta Kapoor's last rites. He told the portal, "I called up the doctors to check on the matter and they informed me that the actress’ last rites have been done by daughter Aradhaya, last night. They didn’t want anybody to be present and son is still nowhere in the scene.”
He also took to his Twitter account and shared, "The daughter & sisters of late actress #GeetaKapoor Ji performed her last rites, late last night. Even though Dr. Tripathi, Old Age Home sisters, #ArchanaShourie & I requested them to inform us so that we, who stood by her pain, are part of her last journey. But they didn’t. Sad!”
The portal further informs that Geeta Kapoor's daughter claims that she was unaware of her mother's plight, despite the fact that the heartbreaking news of her brother abandoning her mother grabbed major eyeballs and also got a lot of media attention. She did not wish to disclose the details of Geeta Kapoor's cremation and is not taking any calls, not is she responding to any messages.
Last year, Geeta Kapoor had told MidDay, that her son used to beat her up when she didn't approve of his philandering ways. She had also shared that Raja would give her food once on four days and when she fell sick, he purposely abandoned her in the hospital and fled. Ashoke Pandit had told the portal that even two days before her death, Geeta Kapoor kept saying "Mera Raja aayega" in the hope to see her son one last time.
Geeta Kapoor had done over 100 films including the likes of Kamal Amrohi's Pakeezah and Razia Sultan among others. May her sould rest in peace.
