Pagalpanti trailer gave us a glimpse of the much adored song 'Tum Par Hum Hai Atke' and the makers have released it as their first song from the movie. The 90s song has a nostlagic feel to it and Anees Bazmee tried to recreate the song by giving it a modern twist, but did he really succeed?

Mika Singh and Neha Kakkar have successfully lent their voice to the song featuring John Abraham and Ileana D'Cruz, so much that they take us back in time. Tanishk Bagchi's music too makes us warm to see the good old song being recreated. The song can thus be heard and enjoyed, but are the visuals equally appealing?

Costume designers Anushka Tugnait, Sanam Ratansi, Kshitij Kankaria Shamanaz Parakh Rahil Raja & Himanshi Nijhawan have done a brilliant job in showing John Abraham and Ileana D'Cruz as lovers from the modern times. The song displays John Abraham's new and fun side, but with Ileana, it only takes us back to Hawa Hawa memories.

Himesh Reshammiya's Tum Par Hum Hai Atke Yaara was the song where Salman Khan proves to be lion-heart for Kajol's love, thus literally giving meaning to the film's title Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya. The recreated version, however, is a little disappointing because it appears to go random.

Even in such cases, a great choreography comes in handy, but Ganesh Acharya, who surprisingly had choreographed the original song, failed to narrate any story through the recreated version. Acharya tried to recreate Salman's magic with John Abraham by giving the actor some hook steps, but instead of being a hook, the step appeals only once. He however gave Ileana a great hook step.

Ganesh somehow seemed to have no time at all to choreograph more than two-three steps for the entire song. The situation comes as sheer disappointment since Acharya had done such a fabulous job with the original song, which included involving supporting dancers as props to narrate the hurdles in Salman-Kajol's love story in Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya.

Take a look at both the versions here:

The original song was crooned by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamoorthy. Produced by T-Series and Panorama Studios, Pagalpan also stars Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela, and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles.
