Padmavati trailer is out and it is FABULOUS!  The three minutes 9 seconds long trailer teases us into the world of Rajputana and tells us a story of love, lust and an ultimate sacrifice.

It's one of those films where we know the ending already. What we really want to know is how it happens.

The majestic Chittorgarh in the opening sequence sets up the mood with diya-lit night scenes giving very natural, real feel to the era.

We see the romantic moments of Rani Padmavati and Rawal Ratan Singh and the 'Jai Bhawani' war cry giving a glimpse of the 'jauhar'.

But what remains unseen is the lust bit. The story is all about Alauddin Khalji's all-consuming lust for Rani Padmavati. The infatutaion that led to his attack on the Chittor  Fort.

Instead, we see Ranveer Singh and you are instantly transported in the world of Game of Thrones.

Singh looks menacing with his arched eyebrows, intense gaze. But god, the guy looks so much like Khal Drogo.

Not a single word by Singh has also piqued our interest as to what will he sound like. Will he get the diction right? Playing a Delhi Sultanate ruler from Turkic origin, we want to see how Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Khilji will say the Urdu words.

Coming to Maharawal Ratan Singh, Shahid Kapoor will blow your mind. His dialogue on 'Rajput' aan, baan, shaan has regal touch with right amount of restrain.

And off course, Rani Padmavati has all the charm and authority of a queen. May we say that Deepika Padukone never looked so good.

This shaadi season, she has given lot of inspiration to all the brides.

The bangles, necklaces, chokers, maang tika and lots of kundan jewellery looks so splendid that you would just want them right now.

His love for costume drama began with Devdas and we saw opulent sets, red themes and beautiful sarees. It continued in Ram Leela (major inspiration from Mirch Masala, look-wise). His last outing Bajirao Mastani was also a period drama.

While the movie did well on box office, many slammed for its historical inaccuracies.

But looks like, Bhansali has learnt his lesson. He got it right for recreating the world based on 1540 poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi.

He even got it right for releasing the trailer on 13.03 pm. In case you are wondering about odd timing, well this is the year when Khilji attacked Chittor.

While there are many who may say that it's just a legend and there is no historical significance about it. But let's not talk about the gyan.

So, the last time we totally loved Rajputana was in Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar. But in the year of Baahubali, will Bhansali match the grandness? Will Padmavati become Mughal-E-Azam of our time? Celebrating a legend with cinematic brilliance? Let's wait till December 1.
