After a long battle, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, is all set to release on January 25. Considering the film will hit the theatres the same day as R. Balki’s PadMan starring Akshay Kumar, everyone is already contemplating on who would win the box-office battle.

While Akshay revealed recently that he is not bothered by the clash as “every film has the right to release whenever they (makers) want”, it seems PadMan producer Twinkle Khanna is not happy about the clash and feels Padmaavat should have either released a week early or later.

Expressing her opinion on the impending clash, Twinkle revealed to a leading daily, "It’s not pleasant for both [the parties] and will impact both. But they have also been through enough of their own hurdles. But I wish they would have come a week earlier or a week after us preferably. I am sure Mr [Sanjay Leela] Bhansali has made a wonderful movie but we are very confident of our content. So, I am not apprehensive, and we are not going to move or anything because we are very happy with what [date] we have. (laughs)."

Speaking about her husband Akshay Kumar, who's playing a lead role in PadMan, she said, "He has been making relevant choices. He has also been undergoing a personal evolution. What I find remarkable, as somebody who has been with him for almost 18 years now, is that he isn’t afraid to take leaps and change with times and grow. Even his thought process vis-à-vis what he would think 10 years ago and now, is evolving. That’s [how] all of us [are] at this age."

PadMan is social drama based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas. The film also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
