Akshay Kumar made it official at a press conference held at his Juhu residence in Mumbai. Not only did he push the release date of his upcoming R Balki film Pad Man to February 9, thereby allowing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat to have a solo release on January 25, he also got SLB to share the platform while the announcement was made. 

 

As for his part, Bhansali couldn't thank Akshay enough for his kind gesture and said that it takes a large hear to do this. Now that it's official that Padmaavat will be coming as a solo release on January 25, the lead cast of the film including Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, took to their respective Twitter accounts to thank Akshay for being so generous. 

 

Deepika expressed her gratitude by sharing a quote by Rumi and wrote along ide, " 'only from the heart can you touch the sky' - RUMI 
On behalf of Team Padmaavat, a big big Thank You to Team Padman for your support & generosity!" 

Shahid tweeted, "Thank you @akshaykumar for being ever so gracious. Can’t wait to see #padman. Much love and luck. From team #padmaavat" He added, "And all the best to my dear friends and producers of my next #battigulmeterchalu @kriarj Prerna and arjun." 

Ranveer thanked Akshay writing, "Big Man with a Big Heart! @akshaykumar ...  Grateful to you, Sir .... Mad Love and Respect" 

 

Now that Pad Man is not clashing with Padmaavat, the film will once again lock horns with Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary. Those who're uninitiated, Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary was initially slated to hit the theatres on January 26 but was later pushed to February 9, when Padmaavat too locked in on January 25 as the release date.
