Padmaavat | After SC's green signal to Bhansali film, Rajput protesters threaten to burn down theaters in Chhattisgarh

On Thursday morning, Supreme Court verdict came as a big relief for Sanjay Leela Bhansali film 'Padmaavat'. SC has suspended the ban imposed by state government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. In its interim order SC said, all states are constitutionally obliged to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident during the screening of the film across India after a permission granted by Central Board of Film Certification. SC also restrains any other state from issuing similar notifications and orders prohibiting screening of 'Padmaavat'.

SC has suspended the ban imposed by state government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. Even After Supreme Court's green signal to the film, protestors continue to seek a ban on the film. Members of Rajput community submitted a memorandum to state Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. They are still demanding ban on Padmaavat in the state and even threaten to burn down cinema halls screening the film. 'Ye Antim chetawani hai' Rajput protestors have declared that no changes are acceptable hereafter. 

Even Karni Sena too plans to continue protesting against the release of the film as they going to gather at Chittorgarh fort on January 27. BJP's Suraj Pal Amu who had earlier announced 15-crore bounty to for beheading Deepika Padukone and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali earlier, continues to express his rage his verdict even after the Supreme Court verdict. He has now said, " Ye film release hui, toh desh tootega."

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead, 'Padmaavat' is based on the 16th century Sufi poet Mohammad Jayasi's poem Padmavat. The film is all set for release on 25th January in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil across the globe.
