Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor starrer Pad Man witnessed a drop in it's collections on day 4. The movie did pretty well in its first weekend and it was expected to cross the Rs 50 crore mark by the end of day four.

But Pad Man failed to cross the s 50 crore mark on Monday as the collections of the film dropped on the first week day. The film managed to rake in a total of Rs 5.87 crore on Monday, taking its over total box office collections in India to Rs 45.92 crore.

The film, which is based on the life of a social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who's credited to have invented low cost sanitary pads for the women of his village present an inspiring story. Pad Man also marks the debut of Twinkle Khanna as a producer.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the box office numbers. He tweeted, "#PadMan maintains its pace on Mon... Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr, Mon 5.87 cr. Total: ₹ 45.92 cr. India biz... Overseas opening weekend: $ 2.31 million [₹ 14.84 cr]."

While the unconventional story line of the film may be one of the reasons for low footfalls, another reason for the same is that Pad Man is facing tough competition from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat which is still going pretty strong in theatres. Going by the current trend, Akshay Kumar's Pad Man should manage to cross the Rs 60 crore mark in its first week.
