Shaan collaborates with 13-year-old son Shubh for a song named 'Hukus Bukus' from the film 'Hamid'.
This Father's Day, the father-son duo, singer Shaan and his 13-year-old son Shubh, decided to give us all a very special gift. They collaborated over a song 'Hukus Bukus' for Yoodlee Films' Hamid. Yoodle Films' is the film production arm of Saregama.The soft and soothing song is dedicated to all the fathers out there.
'Hukus Bukus' is a retread of an old Kashmiri tune. The song features Shaan, alongside a vernal boy who plays the part of 'Hamid' in the film. The song is nothing but pleasant and melodious. The picturesque Kashmir portrayed in the video of the song adds up to the beauty of the song. The use of popular Kashmiri instrument like the rabaab adds character to the song.
Shaan's talented son Shubh, recites the Kashmiri version of the song. His innocent voice is a treat to the ears.

While talking about his experience on composing the song, Shaan said that it was all together a different experience. Firstly because he had to try and keep the original Kashmiri folk song as it is, and secondly because he was working with his son.
Gulf News qouted Shaan saying, “Composing this song was a wonderful experience. The song talks about how we are all the same when one divine power has created us all. I wanted to keep the original song as intact as possible, and yet lend it a beat that complements its signature tune and is catchy as well."
“My son has sung this song with me, and working with him makes the song that much more special,” he added.
Vikram Mehra, Managing Director, Saregama India, on the other hand said, "We, at Saregama, are excited to celebrate the spirit of Father’s Day with a special song and who better than Shaan and his son Shubh to bring that to life. Hukus Bukus is a charming and a lovely song and Shaan has given it his unique style."
The film Hamid is about a boy who endeavours to make a phone call to God and ask him to restrain violence in the state. His call, however gets connected to an Indian army officer. What all he does to grant Hamid's wish forms the crux of the story.
Hamid is directed by Aijaz Khan. The cast includes Rasika Dugal, Vikas Kumar and Talha Arshad Reshi.
