On Friday evening, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were snapped while leaving filmmaker Luv Ranjan's house in Mumbai. Soon after the paps spotted them, reports started making rounds that Deepika is indeed a part of Luv's film also starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role. As per early reports in Mumbai Mirror, the movie is set to be an out-and-out action thriller. It was also said that Deepika was indeed the first choice to play the female lead but no one confirmed the report.
Going by the latest photos, it is being speculated that the announcement of Deepika being the female lead might soon take place. However, this has not gone well with her fans who took to their Twitter pages and started the trend - #NotMyDeepika. They are requesting her to not be a part of the film as Luv was accused of alleged sexual misconduct last year amid #MeToo movement in India.

Do y’all remember this? She was sorry to let us fans down, despite it not being her fault. This is the Deepika i know & admire. I still believe she values us all too much & our opinions matter to her. @deepikapadukone i hope you won’t let us down this time. #notmydeepika pic.twitter.com/djaK5kkO4l

Well #DeepikaPadukone got an amazing fan base, all so wise. They are really not like other celebrity's fans. They like and support her but not blindly and that's how fans are supposed to be. Shame on those fans who abuse someone for not liking who they do. #notmydeepika

On a side note if it were for any other actor or actress there would be zero backlash because most of them have zero credibility. Deepika has built a reputation for herself and her ideals. Her fans don’t just stan Deepika the actor but the Deepika the human being #notmydeepika

Being the top actress of your country you have many people looking upto you, it is YOUR responsibility to set the right example. Are you even aware of how you are gonna promote someone who has sexually harassed other women by working in his film? #NotMyDeepika

We have to wait and see what's going to happen to the film!
Meanwhile, a source had earlier said to Bollywood Hungama, "In spite of two solid male stars, Ranjan’s film has a terrific role for the female lead. Deepika is the first choice and there’s no reason why she would turn down a plum role."
While another source had stated, "Deepika has just heard the synopsis. Nothing has been finalised yet. But it is an exciting project and just the fact that she has shown interest is a good sign."
