Salman Khan Films’ upcoming presentation, Notebook, marks the debut of two promising actors — Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl. As the Cine1 Studios production is an unusual love story, it’s an interesting launch vehicle for both the debutants.

It’s a high for Zaheer, who doesn’t hail from a film family. He has worked as an assistant on several movies over five years before bagging the big break. His prolonged desire to be spotted by Salman Khan at a party turned into a reality when he finally landed his debut project.
Director Nitin Kakkar mentions, “Zaheer is very mature for his age, he is a go-getter and exudes a positive energy.”
Pranutan, on the other hand, feels responsible to live up to her father Mohnish Bahl and grandmother, veteran actress Nutan’s legacy. The former lawyer underwent a lot of grooming before entering the acting business as she wanted to be fully prepared before kick-starting her new journey.
Nitin says, “During her audition, I realised there was something endearing about her. Pranutan is hungry to give her best. For somebody who comes from such a rich lineage, she doesn’t carry that baggage. In fact, she considers that as an inspiration.”
The hard work and dedication of both the actors are yielding fruits as the crackling chemistry between them has already started garnering appreciation.
Notebook tells a unique story between Kabir (Zaheer) and Firdaus (Pranutan), who fall in love without having seen or met each other.
The film, produced by Salma Khan, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, releases on March 29, 2019.
