Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer upcoming film Fanney Khan has been in the limelight for reasons more than one. The movie, which is all set to hit the theatres this Friday, was earlier supposed to clash with Salman Khan starrer Race 3 at the box office on the occasion of Eid this year. But, the clash was averted as Fanney Khan's release was pushed ahead.

While a number of speculations were rife, for the probable causes of the aversion in the clash of Fanney Khan and Race 3, the one that grabbed the most eyeballs was the fact that it would have been a clash between Aishwarya and Salman at the ticket windows. Now, given their past, it was bound to send their fans into a tizzy. Another reason that was debated upon for postponing Fanney Khan's release was Anil Kapoor - who plays a significant part in both the films.

Now, turns out that both the specualtions weren't actually true. While interacting with the good folks at BollwoodLife, Anil Kapoor revealed the real reason why Fanney Khan's release was postponed. He shared that the film's release got delayed because there was a lot of work that was left to be completed for the film. He also added that the makers of the film initially thought that they'd get done with the work on the film and complete it by Eid but that didn't happen. So, the movie had to be pushed ahead. 

In Fanney Khan, Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the character of a father, who wishes to fulfil the dream of his daughter who wants to become a singer. While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays a popular pop singer, Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing her love-interest. The movie is inspired by Belgian film Everybody's Famous and also addresses the issue of body-shaming among others. 

Fanney Khan hits the theatres on August 3.
