Shah Rukh Khan’s next film, Zero, is ‘special’ for several reasons. He not only plays a dwarf in it, but this is also the first time he has teamed up with director Aanand L Rai. He also reunites with his Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The movie also has a track featuring Salman Khan.

FACE-OFF BETWEEN THE TWO KHANS

The song, which will be one of the major highlights of Zero, was shot last year over a span of four days in Mumbai. Reveals a source, “Ever since the dance number was filmed, speculations have been rife that Salman and SRK will be joined by Katrina in it. However, that’s not true. It features just the two actors.”

Salman plays himself — a superstar — whereas SRK essays the role of a midget. Adds our source, “In the film, Shah Rukh is shown as a big admirer of Katrina’s work, while Salman plays the superstar who is also one of her heroes. The whole sequence is choreographed in such a way that it shows Salman and SRK up against each other on stage. The team has seen the final results and is extremely happy with the track.”

SPECIAL TECHNIQUE

Zero is a VFX-heavy film, much like SRK’s Fan. It will show a shorter Shah Rukh and has been shot with a unique technique. Adds our source, “SRK’s character has a certain height throughout the film. To make him look smaller, the team has shot from different angles. Along with them, there were holes drilled into the platform where the actor would fit in while shooting his scenes.”
