Despite the delay in the release of Padmavati, there’s no change in the take-off schedule of Deepika Padukone’s next film that’s being produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and KriArj Entertainment.

The film, which is based on a mafia queen, will be directed by Honey Trehan and will see Deepika uniting with her Piku co-actor, Irrfan.

Arjun N Kapoor of KriArj, who’s co-producing the film with Bhardwaj, dismisses the news of change of plans. He says there won’t be ‘any delay’ in their film’s shooting schedule. Arjun starts with a disclaimer, “First of all, let me clearly state this, there has been no announcement from Padmavati team’s end regarding the new release date. So it’s anyway premature to talk about it. We don’t have an idea when it will eventually release.” Kapoor explains, “As it is, Deepika starts our film only around January end and February next year. We plan to begin shooting towards the end of January, but that can extend to February first week.”

So even if the film releases around that time, and Deepika needs time off to promote the film, we will happily accommodate that. That isn’t a problem.”

He adds, “Vishal sir and we spoke a few nights ago and discussed this. We all mutually felt that although it’s not clear if the film will release around that time, even if at all, there are any requirements from Deepika’s end specifically, we are ready to adjust and we will definitely see to it that she’s comfortable.”

The whole industry has come out in support of Bhansali and the whole Padmavati team, after the furore from fringe communities threatened the filmmaker and his lead actress.  Arjun also thinks alike. “This is a crisis, this is a situation where each and every filmmaker should be helping each other. That’s why we will also be there for them,” he signs off.
