'Nishikant Kamat is still on the ventilator', clarifies Milap Zaveri after tweeting on his death

Filmmaker Milap Zaveri tweeted about Nishikant Kamat's death who has been undergoing treatment in Hyderabad. The filmmaker first wrote, "Heartbreaking news that Nishikant Kamat passed away. He judged My 1st play ever in Jaihind College where he awarded me best actor and writer. He was gonna direct “Sanak” written by @shiekhspear and me, starring @juniorbachchan. Sadly the film didn’t happen. Will miss him."

However, he tweeted later that Kamat is alive and on the ventilator. Milap's tweet read as "Just spoke to someone who is with Nishikant in the hospital right now. He hasn’t passed away yet. Yes, he is very critical and fighting life and death. But he is still alive."

He further tweeted, "Sadly the end seems inevitable anytime soon. But as of now, Nishikant is still on the ventilator."

Kamat has been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and was admitted to the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad. He has been critical for a few days and many are praying for his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, Nishikant's directorial include Dombivali Fast, Evano Oruvan, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Force, Lai Bhaari, Drishyam, Rocky Handsome and Madaari. He has acted in several movies too namely Hava Aney Dey, Saatchya Aat Gharat, 404 Error Not Found, Rocky Handsome, Fugay, Daddy, Julie 2, Bhavesh Joshi.

Nishikant has remade several South movies in Hindi which include Force and Drishyam. While he remade Dombivali Fast in Tamil as Evano Oruvan.

As per Milap, Kamat was all set to direct a film titled Sanak starring Abhishek Bachchan in the leading role.
