Suchitra Krishnamoorthi called Karan Johar and Neha Dhupia's friendship as 'chamchagiri'.
Actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi took to her Twitter page and wrote about 'chamchagiri' in Bollywood. She conveyed her thoughts by writing about Neha Dhupia and how she is Karan Johar's new bestie to get all the talk shows. This did not go well with Neha who posted a note as a reply to Suchitra. She wrote about how strong women should support strong women and how she is a self-made actor.
Suchitra's tweet read as "Peeps it's not #nepotisminbollywood one should aggravate against but chamchagiri. I mean how did #nehadhupia suddenly get all these talk shows except that she is #karanjohar s new bestie and #femina Missindia 2002!! She's no blood relative or star kid is she?"
To which Neha replied, "Dear ma'am, This is possibly the most distasteful and disgraceful tweet I have read (trust me I have read a lot) to reduce a friendship of many years, that you know nothing about speaks volumes of you and the time you have at hand. I am proud to be self-made... a proud daughter, wife and mother... and I have the deepest regards for women who can acknowledge that. #strongwomensupportstrongwomen."
Suchitra further wrote, "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely...true in all fields. Be it #Politics or #Bollywood or anything. Perspective is everything. The egoistic & power-drunk mind ceases to see right from wrong. Just my two cents. Om Shanti."
Her other tweet read as "I knew I would get trolled. I have nothing personal against anyone. Of course, nobody survives without talent. But do hear what a lot of people are saying - & young kids being boycotted because of this whole nepotism debate. It's groupism that thrives (i used the word chamchagiri)."
Suchitra concluded by replying to Neha stating, "& dear @NehaDhupia I am so absorbed with my MANY artistic pursuits & single mom responsibilities I genuinely have ZERO time to spare especially on strangers like you. Except when something jolts my conscience to the extent that I feel I must speak up for a fair perspective & larger good. Take care."
Neha Dhupia didn't reply further to Suchitra and ended the topic then and there.
