In a recent tweet Siromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has claimed that the Narcotics Control Bureau could soon send summons to director-producer Karan Johar in the drug-related case that the agency is investigating.

Sirsa had filed a complaint with the NCB chief Rakesh Asthana last week over the alleged drug party hosted at Johar`s residence in 2019 where several top actors were in attendance including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, Malaika Arora and several others.

Sirsa took to twitter and wrote, "Sources have told me that Karan Johar is soon going to be summoned by the NCB. He will be questioned about the 2019 drug party."

However, there is no confirmation on the same.

Earlier, on Friday, the NCB officials quizzed Dharma Production House executive Kshitij Prasad. Accroding to sources, Kshitij is a very close associate of filmmaker Karan Johar. In 2019, a party was held at Karan Johar's residence after which a video that surfaced online, had gone viral on social media. After receiving a complaint about the clip, the NCB team is now investigating it with a drugs angle.

According to sources, besides Kshitij Prasad, Anubhav Chopra, who is assistant director at Dharma Production, was also questioned at the NCB office. Anubhav and Kshitij are known to be close to each other.

Meanwhile, in the alleged Bollywood drugs nexus being probed by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), actresses Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor will appear before the investigating agency on Saturday. In fact, Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash has been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau again on Saturday for interrogation in the drugs related case where both the actress and her manager are likely to be quizzed together.

According to sources, Karishma told the NCB officials during the probe that Deepika was the admin of a WhatsApp chat group related to drugs. There were only three people in the chat group including Jaya Saha, Karishma Prakash, and Deepika Padukone. The WhatsApp group chat on drugs dates back to 2017. While she confessed to smoking, Karishma denied that she had ever consumed drugs herelf.

Sources reveal that about Deepika, Karishma said that the actress is very health conscious and has never taken drugs.

Karishma has been Deepika's manager for the last eight years while the former has been associated with KWAN for nine years.

The NCB has registered a case under the NDPS Act on the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after several alleged chats discussing drugs were found from the phone of Rhea and her brother Showik.
