Mumbai: Massive fire erupts on Varun Dhawan-Sara Ali Khan's 'Coolie No 1' sets, no casualties

On Wednesday, September 11 at 12.30 am, Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No 1 sets witnessed a massive fire breakout. The starcast and team of Coolie No 1 is currently shooting their movie in Filmcity, Goregaon, where a set has been erected.

According to reports on Mumbai Mirror, no casualties were reported from the sets. The team, including Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan and director David Dhawan, were safe. Police and fire department immediately rushed to the accident spot on receiving information from the people present on sets. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.

For the uninitiated, Coolie No 1, much like Judwaa, is the recreation of David Dhawan's superhit film from 1995. The movie originally starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles. Varun, after stepping into Salman's shoes, will now replace Govinda in the remake, while Sara Ali Khan will recreate the role of her step-aunt Karisma Kapoor.

Coolie No 1 shooting had commenced in Bangkok, and after wrapping up one schedule of the film, the makers were shooting for the remaining portions in Mumbai. Apart from Coolie No 1, Sara Ali Khan will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali's Aaj Kal (Love Aaj Kal 2) with Kartik Aaryan. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan will also appear in Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer 3 (the new name for ABCD 3) with Shraddha Kapoor.
