It was only matter of time when the Gully Boy filmmakers unleashed the fire that's the core of the story about Asli Hip-Hop. Composed by DIVINE, Naezy and Sez on the beat, the new track 'Mere Gully Mein' lets the energy of prose wash over you.

On Tuesday morning, the cast of Gully Boy, which includes Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt in the leading roles, posted the link to a new song on their social media pages. The 2.56-minutes-long track begins with a small chat between Siddhant Chaturvedi's Sher and Ranveer Singh's Naved. The duo wants the new listeners and viewers to come to their Gully and see what happens.

The lyrics, penned by DIVINE aka Vivien Fernandes and Naezy Mere Gully Mein is a recreation of the duo's 2015 original. The words give a glimpse into how the day-to-day life in the alleys of the Maximum City unfolds.

Tere shooteron ka khaas meri gully mein

Pure shehar ki awaaz mere gully mein

Prayer, Aarthi ya Namaaz meri gully mein

Maa pe gaali toh chamat mere gully mein

Police aayi lagi waat mere gully mein

Ek number saari baat mere gully mein

Accha,

Wo nikli tere gully se...

Par ab wo mere gully mein

Compared to the original, Ranveer Singh' delivery comes a tad slow. It could be because he is not a professional rapper, or it may be a deliberate decision so that listening and understanding gets easier for the new listeners.

The song is now available on major streaming platforms and can be viewed on Zee Music Company's YouTube channel.

Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar is set to release on February 14.
