Bollywood actress Bhagyashree, who made her debut in Hindi Cinema with Maine Pyar Kiya opposite Salman Khan, is grabbing a lot of eyeballs. But it's not for something that she said or did. In fact, the reason is her husband Himalaya Dasani's alleged involvement in a gambling racket.
If recent reports are anything to go by, then Bhagyashree's husband Himalaya Dasani was arrested by the police on Tuesday, for being allegedly involved in a gambling racket. As per reports, the police had also arrested over 15 other people in the case after investigations and raids that were conducted last month. Post the investigations, Dasani's name too popped up in the case.
A report on Pinkvilla quoted an official as saying, "Amboli Police had recently busted a gambling racket, in which Himalaya Dasani's involvement had come to light as his name cropped up during the interrogation of arrested accused.”
An ANI tweet suggested that Himalaya Dasani has been released after he was granted bail. "Maharashtra: Himalaya Dasani, businessman and husband of actress Bhagyashree was arrested in connection with a gambling racket by Amboli police, yesterday. He was later released on bail," read a tweet by the agency.
Himalaya Dasani too had made his debut in Bollywood opposite Bhagyashree in the 1992 film Payal. He later quit to become a businessman. Bhagyashree too had quit cinema to tie the knot to Dasani.
Earlier this year, their son Abhimanyu Dasani entered Bollywood with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. He starred in the film along side Radhika Madan and was much appreciated for his performance.
