With two amazing films this year- Badhaai Ho and AndhaDhun, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, is at the top of his game.

And now, the actor's wife Tahira Kashyap is all set to join the industry.

Tahira, who has been diagnosed with cancer, is extremely strong and fighting the disease head-on. 

Even when battling cancer, Tahira hasn't slowed down and is all set to make her directorial debut with a slice-of-life flick, which is ready to hit the floors. 

Yes, the film is going on the floors, and according to a Bollywoodlife report, the actress who will play the lead has been finalised. 

According to the website, actress Madhuri Dixit Nene shall be seen as the lead in the film.

The yet-to-be-titled project is a woman-centric narrative and Madhuri seems to fit the bill. 

In fact, if reports are to be believed, Madhuri, who was last seen in the Marathi film, Bucket List (2018), which was also marked her debut in the regional cinema, has signed the dotted line.

A source close to the development revealed that Madhuri Dixit Nene will essay the role of a mother in the film.

"Her character is something that she has not attempted before. The actress to play her daughter will be soon finalised as well," said the source. 

However, the film will go on floors soon as the rest of the casting is done.

While talking about her directorial debut, Tahira Kashyap, in a statement, said, "I am delighted to be working with such incredible partners to bring a take on urban existence to the big screen. It feels surreal that something I had dreamt of for the longest, is finally happening. I’ve been writing screenplays for five years. It wasn’t an easy ride for me. I’m glad that Ellipsis believed in me, and together with T-Series, has given me a platform to breathe life into my script. I am truly excited about this new phase in my life and career."

Madhuri Dixit Nene's last Hindi film was Gulaab Gang (2014), while her upcoming projects, include Kalank, in which she'll reunite with her Saajan co-star Sanjay Dutt
