Karan Johar celebrated his 45th birthday on May 25 in many ways, including a lavish birthday party with around 180 people invited and his very first Facebook live chat alongside Alia Bhatt. The video was interesting and hilarious at the same time as we got a peek into Karan Johar's life through the 45 questions game and the few fan questions at the end.

He revealed many interesting details, possibly the most prominent one being him going to launch three new faces in the film industry. He also spoke of his birthday party plans and how he liked being busy and never took any long vacations until recently, when he took a month-long paternity leave.

Now, he plans to dedicate his Sundays to his children rather than spending it reading scripts at the office. Alia Bhatt, who he considers to be like his daughter (and future heiress to his chat show, possibly!), was hosting the video and also gifted him a jumper that read '#DaddyOfTheYear'!

At the very end, they cut a delicious-looking cake and also attempted to call Ranveer Singh so he could sing the two birthday songs he sang to the director that morning, something he found very hilarious and wanted to share with his fans.

Here are a few highlights from the Facebbok Live session and some major revelations made be KaJo, in his own words:

1.His views on the paparazzi

"I love the paparazzi. I love that they hide in bushes and swing out with cameras.I love pretending when I walk around the place like, 'Oh, my god, they're here again.' but actually I'm quite happy giving them my left profile so that they get my photograph right.I wait...Right before I get out of the airport, my glasses come on, I look at my hair, I make sure my jacket is overturned right and then I walk out thinking,'Oh, my god, how annoying is this?! They're everywhere!', but I wait for them. And there were two times I wore such amazing jackets and they weren't there. I was so upset!"
Later, he also said,"The worst, which is so demeaning to people who are not in the film-celebrity space...My mother's friends are not all from the movies, and they look at them and say, 'Koi nahin hai, jaane do." That's not fair. You start insulting guests who are not movie stars. They feel humiliated and you're upset. It's very sad. Everybody is somebody. It's quite strange, this culture."

2. His take on parties and celebrations

"I like birthdays. I think it is a special day in someone's life and we should honour it." When Alia asked "Is that why you're calling a hundred and eighty people to your party tonight?"
He says, "It started of by being a really quaint affair of like fifty-sixty people, then that grew proportion and it went to the century mark. We all like the 100 crore club, we like the hundred number of visitors. Then, there was the guilt invites. The ones you feel if you don't invite, I'll upset them. And then there were those that I am even guilty to meet because I couldn't invite them for various reasons. So, I have a lot of issues that are surrounding my head space. I'm really stressed."

Alia replied smugly,"But, Karan, why are you stressed? Every week there is a bash at Karan Johar's residence."  He then goes on to reveal "I've called the millennials. So, it's a buffet of age that will be spread out tonight."

"I just feel like everyone must have the best time ever. So then I go and I start playing host because that's the Punjabi in me. Khaatirdaari, as they say. Hospitality is like right up there."

3. How Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor changed the fashion game in the country

Karan told Alia,"Your airport looks are really cool because you dress your age. You don't overdo it. Is there a strategy?" Alia replied,"It's a minor strategy...I can't be uncomfortable, so eventually, I land up looking very comfortable. Hence, it looks younger. So, I can't wear heels to the airport."

Further on the same subject, Karan said,"Sonam doesn't like anything I wear. Every time I meet her she's like,'KJo , why are you wearing this? This is very last season.' Sonam and Rhea actually are the 'Rheson' why the fashion game changed in our country."

4. Alia Bhatt thinks he should launch his very own app!

Alia said,"Karan is also known for his one-liners. I have told him he should start his app, wherein he helps people out to draft messages, to draft tweets, to draft Instagram hashtags."

5. Will he share pictures of his children publicly anytime soon?

Alia asked,"When do you plan on introducing them?" Karan replied,"The thing is, it's just a private zone. They're my kids. I don't want them, right now, to be posing for photographs and me putting them out online. Of course, part of me would be very happy to do a photoshoot. But then, I fear I will only be worrying about what my look is and not worried about them. And I don't think I should reach that stage too soon as yet because I have two children. I'm going to keep them safely guarded for a while. I definitely will step out with them a lot and they will, in any case, be papped, I'll put up pretty images because I want everyone to see how gorgeous they are."

6. On aging and vanity

"I don't feel like I am 45. Everybody says age is just a number, of course it's not. It is a reality, I am 45. Limbs do hurt, body parts have started giving way. There is certain paving the way for a potential botox situation. All that's going to happen, I know, because vanity is never fair, you know, (though the magazine is), but vanity is not fair. It's going to catch up and there will be some things I'll have to do just to be with the times...It is reality, I'm 45 and that cannot go away. But, my spirit, my feeling, I feel like-"
"Twenty-five!" Alia interjects.
"No, twenty four!!" said Karan.

7. His fear of flying

"I have a terrible fear of flying. I sedate myself and go to sleep because, if anything goes wrong, God bless me, because I won't be in my faculties to save myself. I listen to the pilot when he's talking in the beginning very intently. When he says, 'Weather will be smooth,' then I relax, but when he says,'Few bumps on the way,' I want to go and kill that pilot. Why has he told me this? I watch those safety instructions religiously. Once the pressure had gone down, and those oxygen masks came down. But I forgot everything. All those years of flying and listening to the instructions. Suddenly it was bumpy, and I was like,'What do I do?! Where's the life vest?...' I was a mess and the person next to me was feeling so terrible because I was overreacting. Everyone else was so calm because those things had come out by mistake, I think. But I had gone into a tizz! I started screaming 'Help!'..."

8. The 3 news faces he's going to launch pretty soon

A fan asked Karan whether he was planning to introduce any new faces in his films, like he did in Student of the Year.  He replied, "Yes, three faces coming up this year, very soon. And will be in a theatre near you next year, keep watching."
