Landmark venues across the country to turn ‘Gold’ today, here's why

Akshay Kumar’s Independence Day release Gold brings to life the inspiring story of free India’s first gold medal victory on August 12, 1948. This day marks the 60th anniversary of the Indian hockey team’s historic win on British soil. The makers of the film have planned to celebrate the occasion with much fanfare. Iconic venues across India will don a bright shade of ‘gold’, uniting the nation in honour of this landmark event. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai,  Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Statue Circle in Jaipur, JK Temple in Kanpur, and Prinsep Memorial in Kolkata are among the landmarks that will take on the colour from 7 pm today.
