Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt were all excited for their upcoming movie Gully Boy’s release, and their fans were excited to see their Gully Boy kiss but it looks like the censor board. The Central Board of Film Certification wants to play spoil sport and cut the length of the kiss.

CBFC asked the Ranveer-Alia kissing scene to be cut down by 13 seconds. Not just that, they also ensured that the makers used the wide-shot instead of a close-up of Ranveer and Alia. This comes as a weird development since it last took place when Pahlaj Nihalani was the chief. Prasoon Joshi is currently the CBFC chief.

The Central Board also asked for four changes in the film apart from the changes in kissing scene. The first change was in the name of a liquor brand. CBFC asked the makers to remove the name of the liquor brand, and thus, it is no longer a brand partner either. The second change is CBFC’s favourite - cuss words. All cuss words have been bleeped or removed from the film. Gully Boy is certified with U/A after the cuts. However producer Ritesh Sidhwani is totally chill with it. While speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, “It is absolutely fine.”

Starring Alia and Ranveer in the lead role, Gully Boy is the story of an aspiring rapper named Murad, played by Ranveer, who rises from the slums of Mumbai to make a mark for himself in the world of desi hip hop. Directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment, Gully Boy will releases in theatres within a day i.e. on Valentine’s Day.
