Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari, which released on Holi, got the highest opening with Rs. 21.50. The movie however saw a little dip on day two i.e. on Friday. Kesari has now minted Rs. 16.70 crore. The total collection of this movie are now Rs. 37.76 crore.

The drop in collections happened due to working day. The movie, according to a report on Box Office India, showed a jump in Mysore on Friday. Meanwhile it dropped to half in Mumbai and Gujarat. Co-incidentally the two cities helped the movie become the highest opening film.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Kesari is solid on Day 2... Decline on a working day - after a holiday - is common, but the decline is less this time... Will score big numbers on Day 3 and 4... Is chasing a huge total in its *extended weekend*... Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.70 cr. Total: 37.76 cr. India biz."

He adds that the Akshay Kumar movie is trending better than Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy and Ajay Devgn starrer Total Dhamaal. "#Kesari aims at No. 1 spot as far as *opening weekend* is concerned... Trending better than #GullyBoy and #TotalDhamaal... Will surpass *extended weekend* [Thu-Sun] of #GullyBoy [72.45 cr] as well as *traditional weekend* [Fri-Sun] of #TotalDhamaal [62.40 cr]," tweeted the trade analyst.

A historical drama based on the true story of the Battle of Saragarhi fought between 21 courageous Sikhs and 10,000 invaders in the year 1897, Kesari is directed by Anurag Singh and co-produced by Karan Johar. It stars Parineeti Chopra as the female lead.
