Kartik Aaryan to collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali?

Kartik Aaryan, who is riding high on the super success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, has been approached by several filmmakers to star in their next project. The actor, who is regularly having several such meetings, was recently spotted outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office. 

Our source reveals that there’s ‘something happening’ there. “SLB and Kartik are planning to collaborate on a film together. They have met a few times and have discussed some ideas. They haven’t locked in on any particular subject but both, Kartik and Bhansali, are keen to work together.”

The Padmaavat maker has liked Kartik’s performance in his big hit and from what we hear, he wants to develop a romcom with him in the lead. “If all goes well, Kartik will indeed sign a romantic film, with Bhansali’s production house soon. The filmmaker feels that’s the space Kartik is best in. Though right now, nothing is concrete,” adds another source. 

Incidentally, this won’t be the first time the filmmaker is discussing a film with the young actor. Previously, when the Bajirao Mastani director was planning to produce a film on Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam’s love story, he had offered Kartik the second lead. As our source said, “When Gustakhiyan was in the pre-production stage and Priyanka Chopra was doing the film. Kartik was offered the role of Amrita’s husband Pritam Singh. But then, it never got made.” 

With SKTKS pushing Kartik as a bankable actor, this director-actor combination might be one to look out for. But a friend of Bhansali refutes the story and tells us, “It was just a casual meeting where Kartik had dropped by to meet the filmmaker. Even Padmaavat’s designers Rimple and Harpreet had come to see Bhansali.”
