Like Salman Khan's Race 3, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer Veere Di Wedding won't see the light of day in neighbouring country, Pakistan. While Salman's film was banned in response to the local film producers' complains over facing stiff completion from the Indian market, the latter has been prohibited from releasing because of its adult content.

The film, that also stars Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, has apparently been banned in the country because of “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes.” Danyal Gilani, Chairman, Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), told IANS, “Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980.”

The movie was screened for the CBFC in Pakistan on Tuesday night. According to trade sources, the movie was deemed unfit for releasing because of “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes”. The Distribution Club also issued withdrawals of their application for the certification after witnessing criticism from members of the board, reported The Express Tribune.

Co-produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi, Veere Di Wedding hits the screens in India on June 1.
