Kapoor & Sons director Shakun Batra is 'Pappu' in the song 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala'

While shooting for Kapoor & Sons, Rishi Kapoor had made several explosive statements about director Shakun Batra. He had talked about not having any fun shooting and how he had offered to quit the film twice! Now, Shakun in an episode of Talk Shop, says that working with Kapoor was an experience of a lifetime, “He was funny. Every time he gave an interview (controversial), he would call me in the night and say, ‘Aaj maine phir kuch bola hai, dekh kal akhbar mein chhapega’.” Shakun also gives insight into how he made his way into Dharma Productions without a filmi background. When asked what would the title of his biopic be, Shakun said, ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’. The filmmaker shares that the guy dancing as Pappu in the popular song from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is him! “We were in Alibagh and the director said we don’t have a budget. ‘Tu pappu lagta hai, tu khada ho ja’, and that’s how I ended up dancing in the song,” he lets on.
