Kangana Ranaut bagged her first National Film Award in Best Supporting Actress for the film Fashion. In the same year, Priyanka Chopra Jonas won Best Actress Award for the same film directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. On Saturday, Kangana took to her Instagram story and shared a photo posing with the former President of India Pratibha Patil while receiving the National Award. The actor recalled the winning moment and an interesting trivia about her outfit.

Kangana wrote, "First National Award, many special memories attached to this. I was one of the youngest actresses to receive the honour, also for a women-centric film from a woman President. I designed my own suit, didn't have enough money to buy something special, the suit wasn't bad... nahin?"

Check out the post below:

Earlier, talking about her big win, Kangana had told ETimes, "It's been amazing that I got a National Award for that but to be honest, I didn’t expect it. I have also done even stronger performances like Gangster and Wo Lamhe before that which didn’t get me a National Award and this suddenly got me the award. More than that, from a parallel cinema, I came into mainstream cinema. People started to recognise me all across the country. It was not that I was just a side actress, it was not that for me anymore, it changed my league altogether."

On Fashion, she also said, "Fashion has whether it’s drugs or it is the exploitation of talent, it was so openly shown and it is not a secret to anyone. Now, of course, a lot of people say that ‘we are holier than thou’ but this is the very latest trend, that time it was not such a big deal."
