Kangana Ranaut expresses happiness after 'Thalaivi' gets U certificate in Tamil version

After getting the 'U' certification for 'Thalaivi' Kangana Ranaut said, "one more film of mine that even children can enjoy".

Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Thalaivi’ has been granted the ‘U’ certificate for the Tamil version and too without any cuts. The ‘Manikarnika’ actress expressed her happiness over news and said ‘one more film of mine that even children can enjoy’.

Kangana shared a poster of the film with the caption, “Thalaivi gets U cirtificate in Tamil Version, which means after Queen and Manikarnika one more film of mine which even children can enjoy with their parents and grandparents.”

The makers of the film will soon be applying for certification of Telugu and Hindi versions as well. Based on the life of actor-turned-politican Jayalalitha, the trailer of the film created a huge buzz across the masses, generating immense anticipation to witness the journey of Jayalalithaa`s life through the various stages. From her struggles in the film world to the rise of her stardom as well as her battle through the political hurdles and ultimately emerging as the fierce leader who changed the shape of Tamil Nadu politics.

The film was initially supposed to be released on April 23, 2021 however, due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the released got postponed. As per a source close to the production, the film will be released this year in August and ‘only in cinema halls’.

'Thalaivi', presented by Vibri Motion pictures, Karma Media Entertainment and Zee Studios in association with Gothic Entertainment and Sprint films have been produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh and co-produced by Hitesh Thakkar and Thirumal Reddy.

Kangana Ranaut also has 'Dhaakad' and ‘Tejas' in pipeline, for which she has been shooting.
