Kajol's sister Tanishaa Mukerji opens up on being target of racism in USA

Bollywood actress Kajol has been a constant across the world thanks to her appearances in Dharma movies. She probably never thought but her sister Tanishaa Mukerji, was targetted in USA for having a certain skin type. She and her friends had to face this comment.

We all have heard at least one instance of racist comments in USA, but assumed that people progressed and these comments stopped after some time. Tanishaa, who never came across such a situation, was shocked when she and her friends were called out in a racist comment.

“I don’t understand what triggered it as I was polite, but he turned rude. One of the employees, an African-American, said that we looked as if we were fresh off the boat and couldn’t speak English. That was insulting and blatantly racist. My friends and I were shocked. It’s traumatic to experience this kind of racism in the US; I have never faced it earlier,” she told Mid-Day while opening up about the comment.

Tanishaa even tried to punish the man for such behaviour and wanted to hand him to the cops. She told her hotel staff about the incident but they were of no help. “I told them to call the cops, but they refused to do so,” recollected the Neal n Nikki actress.

Tanishaa visited the country to attend CRY America charity gala. Post the event, she and her friends went for dinner, which is when the whole incident took place. Tanishaa, last seen in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' two years back, faced the remark a week back but opened up about it now.
