Kai Po Che’s hit team reunites for Sara Ali Khan-Sushant Singh Rajput starrer 'Kedarnath'

In 2013, filmmakers Ronnie Screwvala and Abhishek Kapoor came together to back a new talent — Sushant Singh Rajput — for his debut film Kai Po Che! Five years later, the trio is set to light up the silver screen with a tragic love story, Kedarnath. Interestingly, this film marks Sara Ali Khan’s foray into Bollywood.

While Kai Po Che! garnered much love and adulation from critics as well as cinegoers, the trio is excited and confident about their new release.

Backed by Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP and Pragya Kapoor of Guy In The Sky Pictures, Kedarnath is a tragic love story that has been directed by Abhishek. The movie, which is set against the backdrop of the 2013 Uttarakhand floods, has been shot extensively in the picturesque holy town.

Sushant plays a hardworking pithoo who piggybacks tourists to the shrine. Adding quirk to the story is Sara, who is seen as a full-of-life colourful character. The makers are hoping that the former will win over the audience with his innocence and simplicity, while the latter will steal the show with her cheerful small-town girl avatar. The trailer has piqued the curiosity of critics as well as viewers who are excited to watch Sushant and Sara’s tragic romance unfold on the big screen.
