Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious film Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh had a tough time before the film finally hit theatres on the Republic Day weekend. But all's well that ends well as the film is doing fantastically well at the box-office.

But Bhansali is no mood to rest on his laurels as he has already begun work on his next film. The filmmaker who is known for capturing larger than life frames on the big screen is going to make yet another big-budget film after Padmaavat. According to Deccan Chronicle report, the producers who were supportive and stood by Bhansali's side during tough times are keen to back his next film as well. SLB is planning his next film in collaboration with Viacome 18 Motion pictures yet again and will be a true blue Bhansali film. The report quoted a source saying, “It will be yet another big-budgeted musical epic. Bhansali can’t think small — even when his films have been designed as modestly budgeted as Black and Guzaarish were, they have turned out to be massive in scale. Ideally, after Padmaavat, Bhansali would like to do something smaller. But he can’t. Viacom is already looking at a budget of approximate  Rs 150 crore to Rs 175 crore for their next film with Sanjay.”

It' will be interesting to see if the filmmaker will opt for his favourite stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh for the third time around.

Released on January 25 2018, Padmaavat has already crossed 100 crore mark in less than 5 days of its release. The film has also crossed 2 million mark in Austalia to become the third Indian film to achieve that record after Baahubali 2 and PK.

DNA AfterHrs sources earlier said that Bhansali is grateful to the Censor Chief, Prasoon Joshi for passing the film with the required modifications, to the police for protecting the theatres that are playing the film, to the press for batting for him and finally to the members of his own fraternity who have come forward to stand by him during his most-trying period.
