Paltan, based on the 1967 Indo-China conflict marks the completion of the war trilogy by veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, following his iconic works like Border (1997) and LOC Kargil (2003). The film is an ode to the Indian army’s brave soldiers who were in the Nathu La military clashes along the Sikkim border. The ensemble cast will take us through the rivetting story of the bravest of Indian soldiers, who fought with their brothers till the end. Interestingly, the release date is also significant. The war drama hits screens in the same week as the Indo-China war, which took place on September 11, 50 years ago.

Dutta shares, “I’ve been blessed by the almighty to immortalise our soldiers in the films I make. Paltan showcases an untold story that most of us don’t know about. It’s a milestone by the Indian army. The bravery and valour shown in 1967 went way beyond the call of duty. This is a story that needed to be told for the big screen.”

Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios, said, “The battle of 1967 is an important chapter in our military history, which was lost. We are proud to be opening that case file with Paltan. We, at Zee Studios, have always believed in telling inspiring tales of patriotism, and through this film, we pay our tribute to all soldiers of the Indian armed forces.”

With sensitive performances by Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary, Harshvardhan Rane, Luv Sinha, and Siddhanth Kapoor, the movie promises to be a fulfilling experience.

Paltan, presented by Zee Studios and produced by JP Films, Paltan releases today.
