Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival's 19th edition has a grand opening night

The 19th edition of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star had a grand opening ceremony at the iconic Liberty Cinema with world-renowned filmmakers from all over the world, and Indian film actors in attendance. Liberty Cinema is a heritage site and a noted Art Deco building, representing a long-standing association with art, literature, theatre and music.

The festival was opened by Amruta Devendra Fadnavis, Co-Chairperson Nita Mukesh Ambani, along with Festival Chairperson Kiran Rao, Festival Director Anupama Chopra, Creative Director Smriti Kiran among eminent Bollywood personalities.

Anurag Kashyap's film Mukkabaaz was the festival's opening film, and Sharmila Tagore received the 'Excellence in Cinema India Award'.

The week-long festival welcomes over 220 films from 45 countries in 51 languages, including features, documentaries and short films.

Bollywood came out in full support to attend the Opening Ceremony Red Carpet, which was graced by stars like Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher and Kalki Koechlin.
