Rabiya Khan, the mother of deceased actress, Jiah Khan, who was allegedly murdered and later claimed to have committed suicide, turned to Mann Ki Baat where she addressed her grief to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the hope for justice.

Khan also mentioned actress Kangana Ranaut's courage, who openly shamed an actor for allegedly assaulting and abusing her in her early life. She said, "Kangana had the guts to speak about the assault. It clearly depicts the alleged criminal mentality of the father of the accused. Kangana's interview is going to turn into a blessing in my case. I don't want to be like the Dera victim who wrote to the authorities for 14 years about the assault."

Speaking of her open letter, Khan said, "All the forensic evidence that I have obtained from experts in India and England point towards homicide. Their analysis shows that the injuries on my daughter's body were inconsistent with the alleged suicidal hanging and all forensic evidence strongly suggests that she was murdered and then hanged to make it look like a suicide. The Bombay High Court, in July 2014, transferred the investigation to the CBI with a clear mandate to find out whether my daughter's death was homicidal or suicidal, and if found to be homicidal, to launch a further investigation and take appropriate action. For some reason, the CBI was reluctant to take over the case from the beginning and after delaying their findings for fifteen months, the investigation is now compromised."
