Janhvi Kapoor to step into Priyanka Chopra's shoes; bags a role opposite Sidharth Malhotra in 'Dostana 2'

We all have been waiting for a sequel to Karan Jonar's 2008 comic entertainer, 'Dostana' since quite some time now. But now it seems we wouldn't have to wait much longer to hear an official announcement on the same.

As per a latest report in Bollywood Hungama, the sequel is now finally under development. It had been in talks since long but the lack of a good script was keeping Karan away from the project. However, now, not just the script has been locked but we hear Karan has also roped in his protegees Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor for the film. 

A source close to the development informed the portal, “Karan Johar always wanted to make Dostana 2, especially after the first film worked so well. Now finally he has a script for the film, which of course will speed up production. As for the cast, Karan has finalized both Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, and is currently looking out for the third lead role that will again be a male lead.”

“Like the first film this one too will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The only difference will be the story and cast that will change. But as of now with the hunt still on, the film is still a long way off from going on floor,” the source added.

'Dostana' starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. It told a story of two men who enter a girl's house as tenants on the pretext of being gay. Both fall in love with her, but it's her boss who eventually walks away with the lady.
