The makers of Vijay’s much-anticipated film 'Thalapathy 63' on Thursday welcomed Bollywood veteran Jackie Shroff on board. "We are happy to welcome #JackieShroff Sir on board #Thalapathy63," tweeted Archana Kalpathi, creative producer of 'Thalapathy 63'.

Rumours of him being approached for a crucial role in the sports drama had surfaced earlier but today it was officially confirmed. Reports have it that 'Bhidu' will play the role of a villain in the film.

This will be Jackie's next big film in South after Prabhas' 'Saaho'. The actor has earlier acted in Tamil movies like 'Aaranya Kaandam'. Besides Tamil and Hindi, Jackie Shroff has also featured in films of Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya, Bhojpuri and Punjabi languages. 

The yet untitled film, which has come to be known as ‘Thalapathy 63’ as it is Vijay's 63th film, marks Atlee's third consecutive collaboration with Vijay after 'Theri' and 'Mersal'. It also marks Vijay's hattrick with AR Rahman. 

The movie also stars Nayanthara, Reba Monica John, Kathir, Daniel Balaji, Vivek, Yogi Babu, Anand Raj and others in prominent roles.
