Is Manav Kaul the culprit in Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan's 'Badla'?

The recently-released trailer of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer Badla gave a sneak peek into the whodunnit that revolves around blackmail, murder and no witnesses. In the crime thriller, Taapsee’s character is shown to have an extramarital affair and is being intimidated for money by a mystery man. However, her lover is soon killed and the culprit leaves without taking the ransom amount. 

The plotline has piqued the curiosity of viewers as to who the perpetrator in this brainteaser is. From the rushes, fingers seem to point at Taapsee’s on-screen husband Manav Kaul, who probably kills the man she is cheating on him with and has no interest in the payoff.

The engaging storyline, as well as a stellar star cast, including the Hindi cinema icon Bachchan and Taapsee (who are teaming up after winning accolades for Pink in 2016), Manav and Tony Luke, have stirred excitement amongst fans for the edge-of-the-seat thriller. The Big B and Taapsee actress will be seen in the roles of a lawyer and client, with the latter struggling to find out the truth and clearing her name.

Badla is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, presented by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment, co-produced by Gaurav Verma and produced by Gauri Khan, Sunir Kheterpal and Akshai Puri. The movie releases on March 8.
