Is Hrithik Roshan a part of Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of 'Ramayana'? 'Chhichhore' director answers

During an interaction, Nitesh Tiwari was asked about his adaptation of 'Ramayana' and if Hrithik Roshan will be playing the role of Lord Rama.

Ace filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming directorial Chhichhore. But even before his latest directorial hit the screens talk of his ambitious project, an adaptation of Ramayana started making the rounds. It was also being said that Nitesh is planning to cast Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone for the roles of Lord Rama and Sita respectively. Moreover, he is planning to co-direct the film with MOM helmer Ravi Udyawar.

Now during an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, when Nitesh was asked all about it and especially about Hrithik being a part of his project, he replied, "No, we are still working on the draft, we will not move and ask anyone till we are not happy and sure of what’s there on the table and what exactly we’re going to do. The casting and other aspects come in later. Sridhar Raghavan is writing the screenplay and once we know where we stand on paper only then we would be moving ahead with the rest of the things."

Reports also have it that the film will be made in the budget of Rs 500 crore and in 3D format.

Earlier, when The Times of India asked Nitesh about the adaptation of Ramayana, he had said, "I am looking forward to work in Ramayana, something that I am really excited about. Once done with Chhichhore, I will go back to start working for Ramayana. It is a challenge for me as I have a sense of responsibility to bring the project in its true form of glory for the country."
