Irrfan Khan left his fans worried and shocked on March 5 this year, by sharing that he has been diagnosed with a 'rare disease'. Speculations about his 'rare' disease and illness soon started doing the rounds. The actor revealed on March 16 that he has been diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine Tumour and that he'll be travelling abroad to get his treatment done.

While the actor thanked everyone for their love and support he also requested his fans ans well wishers to continue sending their wishes. Now, recently rumour mills were busy churning that Irrfan is getting his treatment done by an Ayurveda doctor.

Refuting the reports, Irrfan's spokesperson said in an official statement that though the actor did contact the vaidya in question but their interaction did not go further than one conversation.

Here's the full statement:

As suggested by recent news reports, Mr. Khan is not consulting with Vaidya Balendu Prakash. He at one point had contacted him but other than one phone call there has been no conversation or consultation whatsoever. It is unacceptable to be using someone’s illness for your own publicity and personal gain. Like Irrfan khan's previous statements, we all need to respect the space asked for and wait for him or his wife’s statement for any further update.

Meanwhile, Irrfan's next with Deepika Padukone, to be helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj has been put on hold. The film will apparently begin rolling once Irrfan is back in the country post his treatment. The film is said to be based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi's book titled Mafia Queen's of Mumbai. The working title of the film has been reported to be Sapna Didi.
