Irrfan Khan's 'Blackmail' presents the millennial approach to marital cheating, here's how

The year 2011 witnessed a bunch of movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Rockstar, Don 2 to name a few and Abhinay Deo's Delhi Belly was an altogether new take on youth in Indian Cinema. Abhinay Deo is known for his fresh and quirky take on subjects that make his film an entertaining watch. 

Coming back to the celluloid after Delhi Belly, Abhinay Deo is all set to deliver a never seen before take on marital cheating. His upcoming film Blackmail, featuring a power-packed ensemble cast of  Irrfan, Kirti Kulhari, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh, Omi Vaidya, Anuja Sathe, Pradhuman Singh Mall, Gajraj Rao showcases Irrfan's character resorting to blackmailing when he sees his wife in bed with her lover.

The done to death subject of infidelity is dealt with a millennial approach by Abhinay Deo which makes for an interesting watch. The film highlights the paradigm shift of behaviour and consumption pattern of the audience, who have a more liberated approach towards the entertainment industry.

Unlike others, Blackmail exhibits the wife cheating on her husband and the unconventional response by the husband played by Irrfan, on seeing his partner in bed with her lover. The subject is meeting with a fresh approach as Irrfan is seen blackmailing his wife's lover rather than adopting any violent measures.

Irrfan starrer Blackmail has piqued the interests of the audience with its unusually quirky and interesting comic trailer and posters. The first song from the film also reminds us of the chartbuster 'I Hate You Like I Love You' from Abhinay's debut venture 'Delhi Belly'. The film is slated to release on April 6, 2018.
