IIFA Awards 2018: Vidya Balan's 'Tumhari Sulu' scores most nominations

Rajkummar Rao's 'Newton' is close second.

The International Indian Film and Academy (IIFA) announced the nominations for IIFA 2018. Vidya Balan's Tumhari Sulu has scored most nods including Best Actor (female) for Balan and Best Director for Suresh Triveni. Rajkummar Rao's political satire Newton is close second with nominations for Rao and his co-star Pankaj Tripathi.

Tumhari Sulu and Newton are competing with Bareilly Ki Barfi, Hindi Medium, and Toilet - Ek Prem Katha in Best movie category. 

Bollywood superstar, Late Sridevi is also nominated posthumously in the Best Actor (female) category for her performance in MOM. Zaira Wasim is the youngest nominee in this class of 2018 for her role in Secret Superstar. Seema Pahwa scored double nomination in Best Actor in Supporting Role (female).

Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh will host the 2018 IIFA Awards that's taking place in Bangkok from June 22 to 24. The entirety of Bollywood descend at the tourist location. The crowd will be entertained with the performances by likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, at the Siam Niramit Theatre in Bangkok.

Actor Kartik Aaryan, who recently gave the hit Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, will host the IIFA Rocks concert along with Ayushmann Khurrana.
