Every time Zaheer Iqbal puts up a body shot or a close up of his face on Instagram, someone or the other points out how much the Notebook actor resembles Hrithik Roshan. And post the Bumro song, even more so. “Yes, I’ve got a few comments on social media,” he admits, adding that even though he doesn’t see the resemblance, he takes it as a huge compliment to be compared to the light-eyed star. “Hrithik sir is a Greek God. I have a man crush on him,” he laughs.

Remind the newcomer that he is making his debut in Bollywood at a time when he will be facing stiff competition from the likes of Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana and the actor says he welcomes the prospect. “I’m a sportsperson and sports teaches you that you will never get better if you keep playing with someone who’s not as good as you. Face someone who’s better than you, that’s when you start performing better and the same works here as well,” he reasons.

Zaheer believes he has a lot to learn from his contemporaries. “I’m so glad these people are here to motivate and inspire me. I admire each of them for what they bring to their films. I love Varun Dhawan and how he does those masti wala roles. I want to do a drama like Rajkummar, a light-hearted film like Ayushmann and an Uri-like intense film like Vicky. Seeing their films inspires me to up my game, just like they must be watching other talented actors and being pushed to up their game. That’s the beauty and the fun of this profession,” he  concludes.
